A PAINTING BY NASH GLYNN
open to the public
one viewer at a time
September 19 — October 31, 2020
Saturdays and Sundays btw 12
and 6 pm or by appointment
A. SUBJECT
the painting presents the painter herself
naked and colossal striding a forested landscape
toward a distant rainbow
B. VERB
she painted the four-foot canvas
slowly over the last year
half bc half ac
fittingly as the casual painting is fraught
with balancing acts
of hope and calm and distrust and rage and
C. ADVERB
walking forward into the future, right hip out
but looking back at the past left arm back
(and don’t we all walk blindly backward into the future?)
strong like a valkyrie
vulnerable like the little girl in poltergeist
also the daubed abstracted trees underfoot seem almost
hostile to the lushly hyperrealist clouds
the rainbow is love but lost in rain
the summer day is falling
D. PARTICIPLE
self-identified transdisciplinary artist
her painting lives up to the word
painting the magic prefix everywhere
transforming transgressing transcending transmuting
transfixing transcribing transposing transfusing
E. OBJECT
painting and prefix transduce
movement to a static world
potential to a prosaic world
and initiate complete transvaluation of us all
